Order Instructions

Please contact us with any questions you may have, before sending your Film/videos/slides/negatives/APS to us. You may contact us via email at or by phone at 919.439.2220.

First   Organize your film/videos/slides/negatives into the order you would like them mastered onto the CD/DVD.  We prefer to scan to DVD as we can place more images on this medium.  DVD is our default medium unless you request digital mini-dv tape or CD's.  Please number your film/videos/slides in order if possible.  Place all slides facing the same direction, first slide on top and labeled as such.  If your slides are in a carousel or tray, and in the order you would like them scanned, you do not need to remove them.  We will remove the slides for scanning but will not place them back into the carousel or slide tray.  We will return them to you in weatherproof bags and heavy shipping boxes.  Place any slides/negatives that you would like scanned together into a group and label the group.

Second  We do not clean your slides/negatives.  We do clean and lubricate all movie film.  For your slides/negatives we will blow off surface dust with clean compressed CO2.  If your slides need cleaning from fungus, fingerprints, stains or other debris, you may choose to clean them with an archival cleaning product such as PEC-12 liquid on PEC Pads.  PEC-12 can be obtained at ADORAMA  along with many other products that we use.  Most slides have tiny specks, lines and surface blemishes, that are especially noticeable in bright, single color areas of the image, like the sky. Small specks are much less noticeable on dark sections of an image. High resolution scanning will reveal the tiniest imperfections on your film.  What is on the negative at the time of scanning will remain in the digital image.

Third  Please tell us what naming convention we should use for your images.  Label each group you wish scanned with its appropriate naming convention.  We regret that we can not give each image a unique name but we can use a naming convention like  1962 Christmas.  Each successive image in that group will follow as "1962 Christmas 01", 1962 Christmas 02", etc.  If you fail to let us know a naming convention, your images will be named image01, image 02 and so on.  Videos should be named with the naming convention you wish to have as the Title to the DVD
