The Process Behind the Magic
Movie Film - All film is cleaned and lubricated, splices fixed and small rolls can be spliced together to create 400 foot rolls before we digitally master them. Our equipment is roller based so we never tear the sprocket holes in your film. Your film will be digitally mastered using frame by frame capture directly into a 3 CCD camera. We can then adjust color, trim out leader and black frames and add background music. Menus and chapters may also be added. Post production can be done using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 and/or Adobe After Effects CS5.5.
We offer the very best transfer method on the planet in "Frame By Frame" transfer services. Frame by frame captures each single frame of film as an individual image and then Preservation Video assembles and compiles these individual images as a continuous moving video with the maximum 100% flicker free quality. The finished product is then mastered onto your choice if media. Don't be confused by what the chain stores advertise. They use a real time capture method that only captures 40% to 60% of your film detail. This method can also introduce flicker since the film is running at one speed and the video a different speed. They also use a lesser quality DVD with a shelf of between 2 to 5 years. The old adage of "you get what you pay for" is never more true than here. Isn't your family history worth doing it right?
Video Tapes - Video tapes, of any type, are the most fragile of all the home movie formats. Magnetic fields, heat, cold, dust and humidity all have a negative effect on video tape. If your video is 10 years or older, even if stored properly, it is deteriorating every day. Using professional tape decks, we capture your video onto computer where it can be edited, titles and chapters added, tapes combined and output onto archival quality DVD or Blu-ray disks. You may also choose to have your video output to hard drive. We will never use a consumer grade, direct copy tape deck on your video. We treat every client and every image as if they were of our own family.
Image Scanning - Everyone has them, boxes of slides, a shoe box crammed with photos and negatives or photos kept in old albums where they get stuck to the pages. Let us preserve these memories by digitizing them onto a data DVD. We use professional single purpose slide scanners for your slides or flat bed scanners for photos. From here, you can print copies or share them via email or Facebook. We can also create digital slide shows, complete with titles, subtitles, background music, custom menus and more. Your completed slideshow can be shown on any TV using a DVD player. These make great gifts for parents or children. We can also digitally master slide shows for weddings, baby showers, graduations or to celebrate the life of someone who has past on.
